intake question???

Exclamation intake question???

i have a 351w with 302 heads. Do i need a 351 or 302 intake??

if i understand correctly, the 351 has a longer stroke than 302. although you can switch heads, and cam, you need longer pushrods and different intake for 351. the distance from head to head is longer on 351 than 302. someone correct me if im wrong.

you need the 351w intake. even though you can use the heads for the 302,they are sitting farther apart because the 351w engine is wider than the 302

Both motors use the same heads, the ONLY difference in the late model versions(everything in this series from '87-97) is the bolt hole size, 7/16" on the 5.0, 1/2" on the 5.8. Regardless what heads are on a 5.8 block you need a 5.8 intake.

The block is wider because of the taller deck height.
