For F4 owners

I saw something today that may intrest some owners of F4 model trucks. It was an older winebago with the five lug pattern but was sporting some 17" wheels. They were not one piece wheels however as they had a lockring but may be of some intrest to those wanting to keep 17" wheels and still get away from the widow makers. This is the first pair of 17" I have seen made like this.

Dodge motorhomes, like the Winnebago that you saw, were big users of 5 lug x 8" circle 17" Budd lock ring wheels. These are definitely an option for F-4/5/6 owners. Importantly, they fit over the brake drums. I've seen an F-4 that had 17s on it, and talked to the owner about it. All F-4/5/6s used the same drums. The other thing in their favor, tires like the STA Super Transport 7.50 x 17 have an outside diameter of 34.5". A comparable 8 x 19.5 Denman Express Highway tire measures 34.6".

Budd 17s are of particular interest to me. My M-Hs use them.
