Seeking cam information for DesktopDyno. I'm building a 400M for my 4X4,want to look at all options so if any one can help me with this info it would be helpful. I need the info that was included on the card supplied with the cam (cam card)Thank Guys sledhead69
Here is what cam I am running in my 400 when I put it to gether. It's a comp cam 265 DEH gross lift .510 intake .526 exhaust Duration 211 intake 223 exhaust lobe separation 110. Now the Edlebrock Performer is witch I have run lift at valve .484 intake .510 exhaust duration 204 intake 214 exhaust lobe separation 112.
Good Start and thanks, But on the cam card it will give the opening and closing events for the valves @ .050". Example (intake opens @ 1 degree @ .050" and closes at 49 degrees etc.) This info is really important
thanks
Well with your desktop dyno you should have gotten a cam CD with over 3500 Cam files on it . I think that would cover almost everyone made. Except for the special Grinds.
Well the camdisk was not included.I Email them, hopefully they well send it. Also curious about what they been running for cams. Maybe some special grinds with data. Hopeful
Yep, of course, brain fade there. I was thinking of lift. In theory, you would want higher lift as you want to get more air into the cylinder with the same duration.
From those cams I talked about was comp cam 265 DEH intake at .006 27 BTDC opens 58 ABDC close exhaust 72 BBDC open 23 ATDC with 106 center line. The edlebrock 2172 performer cam at .050 intake 5 ATDC open 29 ABDC close and exhaust 44 BBDC opens 10 BTDC close. Hope this helps from my last reply.
I an installing a cam and doing a rebuild on a 351M I found all kind of spec but all diff if you can run this for me and see what it come out too cam spec are
camshaft lift intake .280 exhaust .295
Gross valve lift intake .484 exhaust .510
overlap 51* advertised duration at checking clearance intake 270* exhaust 280* intake lob center 107*ATDC exhaust lob center 117* BTDC
intake opens 27*BTDC@.004 closes 63* ABDC@.006 exhaust opens 76*BBDC@.004 closes 24*ATDC@.006 duration@.50 camshaft lift intake 204* exhaust 214* spec for duration @.50 camlift intake 204* exhaust 214* intake opens 5*ATDC@.50 closes 29*ABDC exhaust opens 44*BBDC@.50 closes 10* ATDC @.50
