I strongly recomment Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours. I have a set on my 98 Expy and have 45000 miles on them with half the tread still left. They are awesome in the snow and wet roads, the best all terrain tire I have ever used for aff-road use and they wear like iron.

Do you do any towing? I have those on an 04 Expy, and not real happy with handling while towing.

I've got a pair Destination AT that I'm extremely happy with.

I had a set of Goodyear ATs on my red Expedition. They were incredible in the snow and great in the wet weather.

I now have a set of BFG AT KOs on my Tundra and those things are INCREDIBLE in the mud. Some people say they ball up in the mud, but I guess I haven't gone through anything sticky enough to ball 'em up.

I wish I could tell you how the Goodyears wore but we traded in that Expedition for the Tundra a few months after I got it.

I tow a 6500lb travel trailer and the Silent Armours work great, I will not buy another tire.

Although they are expensive (unless you can get them at Costco), I'd go w/ Michellin LTX M/S. I'm now on my second set, with the first set going 70,000 miles! Very smooth ride on the road, and do just fine in snow.

How much longer are you keeping the Expy? If only for another couple of years, then I would go for the Firestone tires. They are a very good deal at current prices. that's what I'm doing with my '98. I can't see spending $150 or more for a tire while the Destination's are running about $100 or just a few bucks more.
