I was wondering if anyone has made front bumpers out of pieces of steel tubing. I have seen some before with two steel tubes running along the front with another tube comming up for a grille guard. Does anyone have one of these on your truck and have pictures? I am going to fabricate a new front bumper out of steel tubing and I would like to get some ideas. My truck is a 1995 f150 4x4. Thanks.
Here is 6x3 x 1/4" rect. steel tube. On a full size I would use 6x5 x 1/4". Basically cut out the back so it goes over the frame horns and bolt it to the frame through the stock holes.
I like to enforce the frame with angle along the flanges, bolt through the flanges, and box the front.
Picture of a rear bumper, I do the front the same way and like a pintle hook for pulling on either end

Excuse the bogger welds, only had a 120V at the time to fill the voids and it was not structural.
Thank you for the replies, I was actually thinking more along the lines of using something like two 3" round tubes. Ive seen several good designs but im not sure exactly what type of design to go with yet.
thanks, jordan
