5 speed shifter...
Have any of you guys done anything cool with your shifter or put an aftermarket one in your truck?
I've thought about cutting mine down a bit, and welding a threaded section to the end, so I could use any **** I wanted on there (did something similar with the shift handle on my Thunderbird...cut it down a bit and put it on an aftermarket shifter base).
Just thinking out loud, I suppose...

I welded short, threaded adapters on my dads trans and transfer case shifters about 18 yrs ago. Cut both a bit shorter.
Currently dad has an angled extension on the 5sp with a Peterbilt **** and a pistol grip on the transfer case.
I got in his truck once when he had been messing around and had a good belly laugh. Over the years, he has picked up a large collection of shift extensions, angled, curved, straight ect. He had put a variety of extension's on ( curves, angles) till the handle was almost touching the top of the cab. When I got in he had his hand resting on top of the mess and was just looking at me like nothing going on. Cracked me up.
That wasn't near a good as the night (when I was a kid) he came up from the basement wearing diving fins, mask and snorkel to go to sleep in their new "waterbed"
