heads swap?

I got a 400 with 351c 4v heads on it im thinking should i do some head work on that deck the block and port and polish the heads to make more umph or should i save my cash and buy a set of aussie heads off ebay and do the head work on those. I want some higher comp ratios and obviously more horse because i race the truck in mud races but im fairly new to motors i know enough to get me into trouble but im just learnin thats theres a whole different world when it comes to squeezing as much power as what you have.

thanks for your info beacuse iv been asking a lot of questions l8ly

If you intend to operate above 5000 RPM, then stay with 4V heads, otherwise go with the Aussies. If your current 4V heads are open chamber, and you want to stick with 4V, find some closed chamber 4V heads...

If you polish the open chambers you may be able to run 9.5:1 pistons on pump gas. With polised quench heads you could run pistons up to 11:1 on pump gas. So - if you are going to stick with the 4V heads for high RPM's and you want 'high' compression, your only option is 4V quench heads.

Well you heard my motor run and it's spinning all of 8000 Rpm's
Why would you be able to spin yours to 7000 Rpm's
