I just got back from lunch to have the receptionist griping about heavy boxes that just got delivered.
The look great, no visible cracks, but i'll go through them tonight when i can spend more time. The guy even threw in a gasket set.
Where are the problem areas to look on these monsters for cracks, and when they are there, are they visible with the eye?
I'm going to get them magnafluxed, hardened seats put in and assembled by a local guy who did the heads i have on it right now.
So I'm going from a 400 with 8:1 compression to 10:1 compression, and from the edelbrock 204/214 cam to a crane 220/220 unit. It's right at 300HP right now, what should i expect from the new setup, Shazam?
I know you'll have the answers to all of these questions.
Gee are those std..030 .040 .060 pistons and do you have a Cam number
And I'll get you your numbers.
As for where do they crack it's usaully in the valve seat area on the exhuast side.I've seen them with just my own eyes and during Magnafluxing.
Ok I come up with 436 Hp @ 5000 500 Tq @ 4500, But one thing I learned is the the Clevlands like a split duration cam .Look for something with a 220/230 profile
