Interested in a used 2005 F250 V10 FX4 with Leather and Tow Command, automatic, and ESOF. Truck has nearly 70,000 miles, its at a Chevrolet dealer for $17,000.
Price seems low to me if you except the price of gas. Who thinks gas prices are making the dealer drop the bottom out of it just to move it?
Some people believe that a work truck needs to get 20 MPG. They think the world would end if they used a "gas guzzler". So, yeah, could be that region is full of folks like that and the dealer's just wanting to dump it.
That's a good price if the truck has a good background.
Where are you at in the country?? I'm just wondering as I've been looking for a V10 fro my bro-inlaw to tow his new fifthwheel and I tried auto trader and checked all the dealers in a reasonable distance and am finding that IF I do find one, they want a damn arm and a leg for it. I've been seening alot of 02 to 04s with 50-90k miles for $20k-$24k. I bet I haven't found more than 5 that are newer than 05's out of probably 50-75 trucks. I have notice a lot with 150-250k miles though! So if you have a Low Mileage late model V10 bring it north to sell it because they're fetching a fair price up in this country!
The other thing I noticed is GM 2500s with the 6.0L V8 are a dime a dozen and are easlily avalible for with low mileage for well under $20k! Since my BIL doesn't really care about the brand and his fifthwheel is about 8k-9k lbs I'm guessing this is what he'll end up with sinec most any 3/4 ton will do.
So in the end, yes thats one helofa price for an 05' if its clean and has less than a 100k miles!
I had an oasis pulled (thanks FTE!) and the only listing was for a fuel line recall. Just for clarity, I've assumed the oasis provides much more info than Carfax. Correct?
I'm in the south.
I'm pretty much sold on it, I just need to figure out how I can get there before someone else does-its 120 miles away.
As far as Oasis and Carfax, you get background only if it was worked on at a dealer or shop that keeps records. More than likely you'll have to get with the previous owner to find all info, such as oil changes, minor problems, etc.
Actually I asked the dealer if I could contact the previous owner. If there is nothing scary I would think they'd want to or least help me with that. If its got some frightening history then they'll block me. I'm going to ask them for a carfax on it.
jefftb we bougth our 05 v10 with 103k miles on it. It just needed tune up related items done to it. We paid $15k for it ...so your price seems to be a great price better grab it quick....
