Conversion update
As in my previous postings I have been converting a 1982 Ford stepside from a 4.9L, 3 speed overdrive trans to a 351M, C6 I have been trying to post nice to know stuff.
The transmission cross menmber was a concern, it fits both manual and Auto, but need a new trans mount.
I was told the starter would fit both the 4.9L and 351M. They don't,
the 351m eng plate hole is a little smaller and the starter top mounting bolt need to be threaded.
Oops. The drive shaft is to long and the yoke will not fit the C6. Anyone got a drive shaft or yoke?-X23

Conversion update
very nice update. im doing a smiller thing except mines a 94 ford that had a I6 and now it has a little 400 v8
it has been over a year in the making but soon it will be done the motor is in and the tranny and transfer case is going in tomorrow. I had a parts truck that i yanked the c6 as well as the ford 9 and all the drive shafts because i thought the lenghts will be differnt and sure enough they are. There is a place up here called break service that will make drive shafts longer or shorter or whatever you want as well as balnce them thats the only real concern everything else has been relatively smooth minor things replacing like the motor purches and raditor any other updates would be good so i know what im looking for and if mine gets done bfore yours ill deft let you know on any other little tid bits of info
