Courtesy light question
Just picked up a used 06 F350 SD. I have a question on how to get the light in the box of the truck to come on without having all the lights in the cab on.
Is there a switch that just turns this light on/off. Or is it just the 1 dimmer switch that turns on all interior lights aswell?

Ford doesn't want to spend extra money putting in a switch for it.
It is just hooked up to the interior lights.
I'm going to run a wire to add a switch for mine, but it will need a wire from the dash all the way to the light.

Greg,
Consider using a diode. Then you can have it turn on with the interior lights, and also turn on with the new switch, but not backfeed the interior lights. Otherwise you would have to isolate the light from the interior.
