Red face My Goodbye

Well guys, its over. I have sold my 1997 F250 HD (92-96 body style)

That was my last one. I have officially traded up to a newer generation. I skipped completely the 97-03 which was the gen I had decided to embrace but the price was wrong at the stealership and decided to pay the same for an even newer 05 Lariat with a bunch of bells and whistles.

I bit the bullet i guess you could say.

Anyway, I'll miss all the GREAT tech talk and projects and mod attempts that were always being talked about and watched by all.

It will be some time before I get into a 92-96 again since I still like em. But it probably wont be for a few years when I can move into a bigger house with some land and make the case for needing a truck specifically for"trash dumping" or "to go to the mailboxl" or even better, a part hauler for my 50 F-1 project (which is exactly what I told her the when I bought it the last time lol

we'll see.

I'll miss this board believe it or not.

It was very very inspiring in terms of doing stuff to my truck. I will take that attitude and spirit with me to the 04-08 board. I can see so many ideas swirling in my head already.

Thanks for all the good times guys!

I'll see ya around.

Felixr

Good luck with the new ride.

Just because you upgraded, doesn't mean you can't post your usual good advice here on occasion. Just a thought

thanks guys, appreciate the nice words

i hate to say i sold her for only 2800 bucks.
the market in my area for trucks is VERY VERY bad.

i had ONE person call (he ended up buying her)

looked it up on kbb and it said 4765 I think was the private party value

i put her up for 4500

went about a month and nothing

looked around at other trucks on craigslist and everyone was having problems selling their trucks

this other guy couldnt sell his for less than me (also a 250)

long story short no bites at 3700, none at 3500 and one at 3200 and was offered 2500

told him 2900 and we have a deal, got him to go to 2800 and said fine

took my 2800 and *****d my credit out to a bunch of stealerships until one finally said ok we'll rape you . . uhm err i mean, give you credit

she was a 351w F250 Heavy Duty package

she was a county truck before me with only 74K miles

all maintenance done

she had an exhaust leak and was rusting like nobody's business

the radiator support "header" as its called in the parts books is about to fall any minute from so much rust damage . . . the engine was all covered in a soap scum type of corrosion from being a beach patrol truck and it had more beach sand in there than . . . (insert something funny here) lol

so overall, i have no regrets. it was a regular cab which i didnt want and it was starting to show signs that it wouldnt last much longer (the body that is) cancer was prevalent and begining to show its face. of course the new owner didnt know it at the time but deserves to find out on his own for lowballing me lol
