I got me a nice 1997 Ranger XLT!!!

I tell ya, I'm glad we've had dry roads lately, otherwise I'd have probably wrecked it already because of the touchy power brakes. I'm used to slamming my foot down just to slow down!
The power steering is nice, although I think it moves too easily on ya when you're going fast, with my old manual steered ranger, it would drive straight and true with no hands, no matter what kind of surface I was on. The power steering will really come in handy when I'm backing up a short trailer up hill in the land fill!! That was darn near impossible with my other truck, the trailer is so short that it would jackknife super quick!
I do own a small utility trailer, and I have borrowed my dads box trailer, they're not hard to tow in my small truck. Last summer I had moved out, and i filled the box trailer up full of furniture and pull it just fine across town in my little 2.0, just could go and stop quick if my life depended on it. I'm sure my clutch hated it...
Anyways what I'm getting at is I won't be doing a lot of towing/hauling. Just occasionally. I would like a limited slip or locker simply for traction in wet grass (i've gotten stuck so many times in wet grass in my other ranger it ain't funny!) I don't do much interstate driving at all, usually all in town or highway (50-65). Based on that, should I keep my current gearing, or go a little lower?

Nice when your friend buys a new truck and wants to sell you his old one cheap.
