Thumbs up Where will it rust?

I Think that a trouble spot will be the bottom of the front fenders in the rear.
I have a 06 and every time I wash it I need to blow dirt and leaves out of there.
Also the bottom of the front doors, they load up with dirt,on the back of the door to the rocker.
anyone else see a trouble spot?
I'm just trying to keep it looking new
I keep my trucks a long time, had the last one 15 years.

I have a 2006 XLT Screw 4x4 and I also have noticed this. As I usually drive down a dirt road everyday the backside of the front doors at the bottom load up with dirt or mud depending if it is wet.

I looked at getting a set of molded mud flaps for the front, but the last set I had on my bronco got ripped off while I was going off road. I'm still thinking about doing this anyway as it would help I think.

I was also thinking about fender flares but don't know if these would stop it or not.

Another spot I have to double check when washing the truck is the bed inside wheel well in front of and behind the rear wheel. The dirt and mud collect there also. For which I am looking at getting wheel liners of some type to stop this.

Of course all these items cost money and my wife wants the Kitchen remodeled first before doing any upgrades to my truck. You would think she would understand that I need to protect my investment into this truck by investing more into it, but she insists the Kitchen comes first.

oh well.

Front bottom corners of the bed. The paint on mine is already wearing away there

I hope to never find out. I put factory mud guards on mine when it was new and I have the factory nerf bars. That seems to keep the mud and gravel away from exposed areas.

haha...I guess their all the same..LOL

I have the molded mud flaps on the front wheel wells b/c I was sick of getting all the mud/dirt/snow/ice on the step bar...plus every time I wash my truck (which is allot) I rinse everywhere, I'm always amazed at how much dirt/sand comes out of the taillight housing when I hose behind the rear wheels.

Why would you think they wouldn't?

There's a place up under the rear quarter panel close to the bumper that holds mud real easy, and I try and wash it out(usually involves digging it out) every time I wash the truck.

There is a similar place like this on my 79 and it is rusted out pretty bad right there.
