You folks have been extremely helpful every time so.........
I have a 07 F150 SCrew without the rail system in the overhead area. I want a DVD system (traveling to karate tournaments throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas ----- I NEED ONE!!!! or valium).
I don't like the ones that go in the headrest.
Can I have a rail system installed?
All of the DVD players that replace a non-rail system overhead console simply pull down. That would place the screen next to my right ear.
I'm going to guess and say yes you can add the rail system. You'll have to purchase the rails and new consoles, I don't think your current overhead console would work. However, my 04 didn't come with the dvd or the prep package. I found one on ebay and purchased the wiring harness from the dealer for $100. BUT... The rail system still puts the screen at your ear, so I'm not sure you'll gain anything. However, get the the wireless headsets and you won't go insane! I saw that the 08s have a dvd that doesn't use the rails, so I would save the money and get the headphones for the kids.
Save big money and buy them each (if more than one) a good quality portable DVD player with their own headphone's and they won't be restricted to just having 1 TV in one vehicle...2 cents
