grinding noise up front...
I've got a 98 F250 LD with about 74,000 miles. It's a 4X4, too. My front end is making a quiet grinding (more like a grating really) when turning; it seems worse when traveling faster vs. slower. I know I need a pro to work on it, but I hate going in with no clue as to the issues at hand, so.....2 questions:
1) Any guess as to what it is and possible repair costs?
2) I am supposed to haul 2 horses about 6 hours on Friday...I'm thinking of resecheduling if I can't get in to a repair shop. Any opinions as to whether that's necessary or not?
thx!

As far as the first post regarding the grinding. Are you sure it's not your front rotors with worn pads? Jack up the front end and spin your tires and see if it makes the noise. Still, it could be a number of things. Just have to start a checklist and start eliminating items (wheel bearings, hubs, etc.). It's quite possible you'll be able to haul the hay burners BUT you don't know what the problem is. Elimate the brakes as a item and pull'em.
