Broken Door Handle

Hey guys, we have a 2003 navigator and the front passenger interior door handle is broken. It is kinda crooked and when you pull on it to open the door, it doesn't do anything. I have no idea how it broke in the first place but I heard that this is a common problem? I did a search and came up with nothing. Is this an easy diy fix or should I just take it to the dealer and have them fix it? Thanks in advance.

There's a rod that connects to the handle mechanism to the latch that might have come off or the nylon retainer broke. Pull your door pannel and you should see it.
