Trouble Starting

Tried to start the truck this morning....about 15 degrees here....fires right up but then stalls....I do it again and it starts right up but dies.....I give it some gas and then she will idle on the next start. Any ideas what this could be? I have a 1998 F150, 4.6 4x4. What should I check?

IAC, mine does it now and then, has been fine for the last year. I have good luck spraying dedicated throttle body cleaner into the throttle body. Must remove ductwork to do. Very common problem for these trucks.

Your Idle Air Control (IAC) is the culprit. Very easy to change, 2 bolts 1 plug, right up next to the throttle body. They cost about $100 - $125 at the dealer.
