I dont know which forum to put this in but, I need to replace my shocks on my 89 F150 4X4. I haul alot of weight with it. There are times i got 2 1/2 rank of wood stacked in the bed pulling a trailer with 4 ranks. i need some good shocks. Does anyone recomend a good strong set?
I have Rancho shocks on my truck and they seem to be very good..Hall blocks and bricks in there but around 2500 pounds in the bed..But i got a f- 250..You might want to think about getting some stiffer leaf springs in the rear or and add a leaf for the rear also...
I really don't think it is suppose to haul that much...You can over load it some but for a 1/2 ton that way too much.. If you did all that already i don't know what to tell you..
Let's see... you're hauling more than 2500 lbs in the bed of a half ton truck. I can't possible fathom why you have gone through one M5OD and five - FIVE - 8.8" axles.
You need a 3/4 ton truck. There is no shock in the world that is going to allow your truck to take the abuse you subject it to. The fact that it has 300,000 miles is a testament to how tough Ford trucks are.
well i had three ranks of wood stacked in it today. thats without side boards. nothing broke.evan got stuck in the mud with the wood on and nothing broke. oh and by the way it was green black oak wood
