I used the column from a 73, you will need to take the mounting off the old column that mounts to the dash and put it on the newer one, four spot welds, drill out, spot weld to the newer column.
If have not already done so- Welcome to FTE. Also have a 65 F100 with the T18 (4 speed) and went with a later model steering column shaft, which is shorter, and used my original column. There was some minor refab at the firewall, it may not be to your liking so the other option is go with later model steering column. If decide to go with the later column may want to see if you can swap column mounts rather than using spacers. Pic's in my gallery are not much help, does not show how I mounted the column to the steering column colar. Basically, the column did not quite line up so I could not install one of the screws where the colar mounts at the firewall. I am lazy, imagine there is a better alternative. Completed my upgrade over 5 yrs. ago with no problems.
