truck stops usually carry the good ones. wilson as he said is A good one, firestick, I cant remember anymore right now I havent really messed wih them in a long time, I used to run k-40 ? dont even know if there still around.
a good antenna is more important than a good radio IMO... a cheap $25 radio with a good antenna will always be better than a top-of-the-line radio with a crappy and or untuned antenna.
i have a cheap radio and it does just fine, since you can't legally put out over 4 watts anyways (is it 4? pretty sure).

I would rather have a miggle of the road radio and a good antenna
good choice on the CB. I have a similar Cobra, but mine has SSB (I've never actually needed it, but I was going up to prudhoe bay, AK and wanted better range, but thats another story...)
As far as antenna's go, check some local radio shacks. Sometimes they have antennas left over from like the '70s haha that they'll sell you really cheap.
Since I know you have an X, your mounting options are limited. If you aren't looking for a permanent installation, look at a magnetic base and a little fiberglass antenna. That might get you want you want.
What i did was get a 1/4 wave (102") whip antenna that I mounted using a ball mount and spring to the rear bumper of my X at the outside corner of the top (I can still open the barn door with the limit bar thing attached.
BTW, depending on where you live, don't be surprised if you don't immediately pick up truckers. Range is not the best, so if you don't live within a stone's throw of a major interstate, you may have to go on a roadtrip before you start hearing people.
My number one suggestion is don't let the truckers know you're a 4 wheeler, they won't talk to ya haha.
