Gibson Headers for your 5.4L

I just installed a set of Gibson headers on my 2001 5.4L screw. I have done lots of auto mechanic work in the past and have a fair amount of experience. Here are some pointers. This is a 4-5 hour job and air tools are an absolute must in my opinion. I can not even imagine attempting this job without an air ratchet. You will need several extensions varying from 2 inches up to 18" or so to remove the two flange bolts. You will need a 5mm 1/4 drive socket to remove the existing studs. I could not have done the job without a 3/8 universal joint as well. You need lots of patience and strong small coordinated hands. Finally the real killer is attaching the EGR tube to the driver side header. You need a 1-1/4" 12 point drop down box end wrench modified into a flare nut wrench. The drop down or offset wrench i used was about 1-1/2" offset. Then you take your trusty Dremel tool and cut a slot in your new $30 wrench. This is an absolute must as there is positively no way to get to the nut to tighten it without this type of wrench. The install was a real pain but hey, now its done and i love the new power and performance.
