Bill Hines,Gene Winfield,Norm Grabowski,Pete Chapouris,Dean Jefferies Just to name a few are the best in the business and I flip over the cars they have built.
I'm more of a custom bike kind of guy, so I'd say Perewitz. Arlen Ness too. Jesse James makes some cool one off stuff too, not really a fan of his production bikes though. That copper bike he made doing a Discover documentary was all right.
Yeah, Big daddys stuff is goofy but creative. That bike Jesse made with the WW2 era plane engine is pretty wicked. Coddingtons work is nice but it is too clean for my taste. Too much stuff hidden.
Barris since I actually met and talked with him a couple times in back of the scene at
events in between signing pictures and stuff. The first time I met him I didn't realize
who he was since he was such a nice guy and easy to talk to like you known him or
he was your grandfather at thanksgiving!! That's probably why we talked so easy I
was just talking to him like a regular joe and not fawning all over him. After I did figure
out I was actually talking to him I had to ask how Dragula was to drive and how he
came up with the crazy cars he made. I mean who thinks to put a coffin on wheels and
with NO rear suspension!! I guess the big fat tires would make it feel like it has some damping, But basically you are sitting on the rear!! If my bronco body gives out and I
have the money laying around these guys bodies are nice. 34 ford baby!! The guy who
knows Barris has a 34 ford(original steel!!) with a Corvette motor and tranny in it, It
is super fast, rides smooth as a big luxury car!! http://streetbeasts.com/

Yeah, I havent met him before and I am sure he is just like any of us. I can't remember who it was but there was some guy at Back to the Fifties car show up here at the state fairgrounds of Minnesota. I shoulda gotten a poster signed from the guy so I could actually remember whomever it was. But yeah I love the custom stuff, it just shows you what the imagination is capable of doing n engineering. This subculture of the auto world is great.
