What other 2 lines? There's an "in" and an "out" line. That's it.
While pressing the line tool into the hose sleeve, hold the filter and wiggle the hose off the filter nipple. Sorta almost need 3 hands but it's not hard.
BTW, I just bought a 2001 Sport-Trac a few days ago and changed my filter yesterday. It was an ORIGINAL filter. You shold have seen the muddy sludge like goo that came out once removed when I blew it out backwards. Never have seen a filter that bad with the car still running.
The disconnect tool has to be pushed in far enough to lift the locking tabs inside the connector. Sometimes, this can be a frustrating thing. I have found that holding the tool in place with your index and forefinger, grip the fuel line with the rest of your fingers on that hand, then push the fuel line in towards the filter, will often "seat" the tool and unlock the connector. Then, just pull out on the fuel line away from the filter. Wear eye protection and have rags available for the fuel that will usually pour all over you while laying flat on your back. When you get one fuel line off, take a golf tee and push it in the stub on the filter. This will reduce the fuel splash while removing the other fuel line, and then the filter from the clamp.
I found it much easier to use the white plastic release tool instead of the metal one. Also you can spray some carb cleaner in their to clear out any debris that may be in there. It just takes some patience and alot of swearing to get it off.
I had three lines also. (2001 Ranger w/ 3.0) I couldn't use the scissor type because the flanges were too long to fit between the filter and the connector. The local Instant Oil Change charged $20.00 and I furnished the filter to replace it. It was worth it to me.
