Heated / AC Seat problem

Having a problem with my 04 Expedition driver side heater / air conditioner. Found a post in the Excursion forum where Chapter7 gave some great advice and showed some pictures on what to look for when attempting to repair. Here is my problem - nothing happens when I hit the switch - niether the AC or the heater come on and the lights on the switch do not illuminate. The passenger seat works fine so I know it is not the fuse. I have tried switching the center console switches to see if that may be the problem without any luck. Chapter7 shows burnt out wiring as the culprit but that is for the heated seats. Just trying to figure out if his problem is the same as what I am experiencing with both the AC and heater malfunctioning. Has anyone had a similar problem? How was it fixed?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
