I’m in the process of restoring my 86 Ford F150. In fact, I just got it back from the shop where I had it painted. I took the whole thing apart….fenders, doors, hood, bed, etc. I’m in the assembly stage now and am currently trying to install the weatherstripping. I’m finding the door weatherstripping to be particularly challenging as the quarters are tight between the window glass and the glass channels. How does one best go about putting the weatherstripping on the door glass channels? The weatherstripping for this is one long piece that inserts into the door frame and the two removable glass channels. Somehow, I need to get the glass within the channels after the weatherstripping is in. What would be the assembly procedures for this? Anyone??? Thanks, John
I replaced the weather strip in the window run and it was pretty hard to get the new stuff in but I soaked the track and weatherstripping in wd40 and it went in alot easier. I didnt remove the windows.
Just yesterday my other door window weatherstrip broke off and the window rattles really bad.. Looks like im going to have to replace that side now.
The windows are out, as are the glass channels. I'm trying to figure out how to best install the new door weatherstripping and put the glass back in. There must be some logical order of assembly to this. Thanks.............
