there is a kid that i go to collage with and he bought an excalibur 3 tuner for his ford focus, he said that he needs cash right now and is looking to sell it, he said he thinks that it would work on my 03 F350 v10 with KB SC, I think his focus is an 04 SVT, any body know if this would/ could work? For some reason i think that this has little to no chaince of working.
meanv10 it should work with no issues just make sure of things below
1. he returns it back to stock ie not vin locked
2. once you get it update firmware from SCT web site
3. Find your local SCT dealer and get some custom tunes
4. also before you buy ask how many unlocks are left on device.
The thing is brand new he has only had it for like a week, do you have any idea how much custom tunes cost, and with my truck would i have to take my kenne bell switch chip out? Thanks for the advise, is there a possibility that running an sct chip with my truck i could get into trouble? thanks for the advise
Cost of custom tunes on dyno depends on actual shop.....And remember cheaper does not always mean better....You will not get into trouble running anyones chip/ flash device / tune as long as you dial in proper air and fuel for your application....ie local calibrator...
