You didn't cause any problems. The two guys have issues that are no way connected to you or your post.

You asked a good question. Sorry for the responses by others. If you have any other questions feel free to post them.

I apologize to everyone else on this post for getting side tracked. I just gave my opinion due to the fact of how happy I was with the fact that the truck I've had for 100k is now running better than it ever has and someone didn't agree.........maybe that's why it's called an opinion.
Once again I apologize to all.

Beer-can flyweight race car. And that's not the car he ran in Street Stang against me and the rest of the guys. My car is a 3700lb Street car with power everything, leather interior, CD stereo with subwoofers, auto trans, IRS,etc..I actually drive this car-it's licensed, inspected, and it 100% emmisions legal with cats and all. I actually have no problem with Jim Jr-he actually treated myself and the rest of the Street Stang guys with respect, and never had a foul word to say to any of us. You can keep on tossing out the insults and snide responses-they mean nothing to me,and show your lack of knowledge in this situation.

I never once said that your truck isn't running better than it ever has. Anybody with SCT's Avantage software can load up a public value file and make one of these trucks run 10X better-they run closed loop all the time in stock form and NEVER go into open loop power enrichement. Your motives for repetitively posting to drum up business for JDM is clearly visible, and if I were fordmdb-I'd be pissed about somebody trying to take business and advertising for somebody on a forum I was a sponsor of.

I didn't have any problems with your posts about JDM. If there was a problem a Moderator would have told you about it.

If your happy with a certain product or service I would like to hear about it and I'm shure others here would also.

Hey sparky, tell me more about your programmer. I just recieved the Superchips 1715 MaxTuner in the mail today but haven't plugged and played yet. I'm driving a '03 F250 V10 4x4 which is about to turn 100K. I'm having it regeared with 4.88s to become a dedicated tow rig. With 35" Toyos and 4" lift on it I'm getting 10.4MPG per the truck's computer. Would you by this programmer again? etc
matt
P.S. I would've PM'd you but I'm apparently not allowed

Just curious what you mean by saying premium fuel is a problem (other than the high price of course). I just bought the Diablosport for my E350 SD V10 and am running the 93 octane tune and the truck feels more powerful. Does tweaking the engine settings require a lot of technical savvy. If so that would probably rule me out.

I hear what you're saying about always wanting to get into the throttle to feel the new power. You almost feel like if you don't get on it a bit there was no need for the tune (unless you're towing of course).

Yup, just like you said it, high price... I think the built in 93 octane tune is not that generous. I'm not looking for the "looney tune" but i think there's more to be had. I wish TS Performance stayed involved in gas tuning there 6 position switch chip for the psd was amazing. If you run across any tweaks to the 93 octane tune let me know. I run the ebay y-pipe but i have a set of DougThorley headers and y-pipe ready to install. I dont have a third car in the family so cant afford the down time.

There were 2 or 3 engine settings with the Diablo that I didn't touch out of lack of knowledge. The Diablo is supposed to be about the best for the V-10 if your only using off the shelf settings. With 93 I do feel I'm getting the 30 to 40HP increase and I firmed up the shifts which I like quite a bit. Overall a nice product. My wallet is definitely a little light from the 93 though. Enjoy

Appearently he hasn't tailored the "performance tunes" to suit his truck.

The predator is a very useful unit. Once you figure out all the changes you can make it is well worth the money.

30-40hp is a bit much. You really should change the trans pressure setting down to 40 or 50 or you'll thrash your trans and u-joints.

If you would like, I will email you a "87 octane tune" that you modify on your tuner that works quite well and you'll be able to use 87 octane in it. I've been messing with this thing since it first came out.

I actually was very conservative with the trans settings. I'm right in the middle between stock and firm. No banging into gears just a more responsive feel from the tranny. I don't beat the truck, I did the tuner because I've always felt the V-10 needed a little something.

For me it worked out great. I didn't dyno the truck but I have owned it for 5 years and it's now like driving a different vehicle. I figure it would take at least 30HP to make a truck drive this different. The OEM program cripples the V-10 quite a bit so that type of gain through re-programing doesn't seem unrealistic. I appreciate your offer to E-mail me the 87 octane program. I assume it's a compromise as far as performance vs fuel costs. Everything I read about this tuner said 93 was the only way to achieve true performance gains. I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't want to go backwards. I'm enjoying the way the truck is running. Thanks
