I am looking for a good set of fender well exhaust headers for my 1977, F250, crew cab, short bed, high boy. It has factory air, np423 manual floor shift, divorced np205 transfer case. It originally had a 400 cid that I changed to 460 cid using the stock 400 motor stantions and L&L conversion motor mounts. I have been looking at the L&L #79750B headers but they recommend a 3" body lift. I don't want to lift it any higher. I replaced the stock body bushings with new poly and 1/4" thick large fender washers so it is sitting slightly higher than new. I don't want to cut any metal if at all possible. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience installing fender well exhaust headers with recommendations of manufacture and source. The headers don't have to be new, a good used set would be fine. I would also like to know what holds up best, ceramic, hi temp paint, stainless, etc?
Thanks in advance.
Hey big blue,
try stansheaders.com
he has tri y headers for 360 motors and our trucks. He should have ones for 460. They are chrome and ceramic covered or regular. Ask him questions for your application. Good luck
