Thinking of lifting my 01 F250 SD. I currently am running the stock 235 85 16's. A buddy of mine gave me some 315 series tires off of his 05, only problem is they fit 17 inch wheels. From the research I have done 17's were not a factory option on my year of SD. Can I use 05 17's on mine, or is there is a difference in the newer styles. If not, does anybody have any idea what size tires would fit on the stock 16's, with the addition of a two inch suspension lift? Thanks in advance!
2005 and up SD wheels will not fit properly on 1999 to 2004 SD's. They have different back spacing and will rub. You could always get 17's with proper back spacing for your truck and then run the tires. Is your truck lifted? It would have to be to run 35's or else you will have tire rub.
On the stock 16 inch wheel you can run 285/75 tires which seem to work without any tire rub regardless of your stock spring/truck weight combination. The limitation of tire will be the stock wheel width. With a two inch suspension lift it depends on what kind of lift you are taking about (spring pack, hanger, new springs, etc.).
