1977 F150 4x4, no cruise control, - The question is, should the brake pedal be at the same level as the gas pedal? I have replaced the MC and Booster and all brake parts. Brakes work, but the pedal seems to be far to low to allow for enough travel. Any thoughts on this???
Yes, I have a 73 F100 and the brake pedal is about 2 inches higher than the gas pedal, but it is not power brakes, so I was thinking that power brakes may have a lower brake pedal. Sure wish I could find a 77 f150 to look at.
I just went out and looked at my 77 and the pedal is about two inches higher than the gas pedal, the switch should not be the stop and is adjusted to where the pedal comes up to the stop.
Check and make sure the switch is not acting as the stop. If the pedal is coming up all the way to the stop all should be fine, it's possible someone replace the switch and did'nt adjust it right.
Thank you for your help, I am going to remove the brake switch and see how far the pedal comes up., If it doesn't come up any higher, then I guess I will have to search further to find the problem.
If the MC was removed from the power booster, where should the brake pedal sit?? Is the height of the pedal determined by the MC pressure back against the power booster???
