Smile first time plowing

I took my F250 out plowing for the first time, my first time I should add the truck is an old pro at it.

Well I had a ball we only had about 3-4 inches of powder here, with solid ice under it. I had a great time the truck really impressed me, not only did it clean up the lot really well, but I pushed back the banks from the prior plow job by a good 4 feet.

Ofcourse I had to play, I was curious to see if it could push them and she did.

The only issues I had was getting stuck on the ice once, and poor visibility when backing up, in part due to the reading box, that has to go.....

Oh and I might as well add, sweat my *** off the entire time, gotta love the ford heaters...

Anyone have any tips on plowing they want to share I am all ears, i have new tires on it now, came with the truck but diff tire ideas or lighting etc.

i think the best advice/tip i can give is GO SLOW!!!
if you plow slow, you will not do any damage to the truck, the property, or yourself.

fast, and you will get hurt, possibly bad, when you hit something hidden under the snow.

a manhole sticking up 1/2 out of the pavement will not even be felt by a tire going over it.

but hit it with a plow while you are doing 15mph, and you will rip the plow off the truck, bend the frame of the truck, and most likely break a few ribs when you hit the steering wheel, and bust up your face when it hits the windshield.

and no, i did not do it, but did see someone that did.

this is why you shouldnt plow public streets, you should plow parking lots and private ways only unless your paid to plow for a town/or city where they give you the same route every year so u know where every pot hole and manhole cover is..

i remember being on Eastern Ave in lynn and seeing a town plow... hit a man hole cover and the plow jumped a good oh say 4 feet

hehe about 10 years ago, i was driving through Red Bank N.J. on RT#35, and came across the N.J.Transit tracks to see a state tandem dump truck sitting there surrounded by cops, with the front wheels 6 feet in the air.

seems he forgot to lift the plow as he neared the tracks, and the angle was perfect for the cutting edge to fall into the track spacer.
it ripped the frame off the front of the truck as the plow went down, and the truck rode up over it.
