[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-Aug-02 AT 05:03 PM (EST)]will the 32 valve heads for a 351 cleveland also bolt up to a 400?
They are located at www.araoengineering.com
I sit here an Salivate over those heads, every so often I'll go to there web page, But I can't get up the nerve to order a set. Even tho my DTDyno Says I'll make over a 1000 H.P. with them, I don't know if my 2 bolt bottom end could handle all the power.
By the way, the trend that I've seen in that link is that the letter before the part number would be indicative of the engine application. More directly, the manufacturer thereof.
I.E.- SB=small block(you know what!)
BB= big block (naturally!)
M= Mopar
F= Ford
P= Pontiac
B= Buick
The only listings for A 400 cu in engine are; Mopar, Pontiac, And definitely last- Small Block Ca-Ca.
>>Might keep an eye out on ebay for some 4 bolt mains. Just in

I disagree My machinist has told me if I want a 4Bolt main 400 it's one of the first things we have to do after filling the block with bloc hard. You get a set of caps from a 351C 4Bolt main block And you have to have them rebored to the 400's Mains size and drill the Block for the other bolts.
But here's some stuff I learned over the year. 4Bolt main with the bolts straight up seems to make the block a little weaker where splayed caps are Much stronger.
But so far my 800 H.P. 400 seems to be holding together pretty good with just the APR Studs and my Altered 351W Main Girdle.

I agree that 4 bolt main caps could be fabricated for the 400 but I doubt you'll find any on eBay any time soon...I was simply trying to say that Ford never made a stock 4 bolt 400.
