oil smell

I just had my head gaskets done at the dealer. I am getting a faint oil smell in the cab ever since. I looked inside the wheel wells and I can see some oil residue on the block. Not wet or dripping just a film. Is it possible when the motor was taken apart, oil covered part of the block and is just stained and making a burnt oil smell ?

I had the same smell after my head gaskets and oil cooler were replaced.

it makes a huge mess when heads are done, espeacially if any parts are replaced like heads. they should have steamed the engine off when finished. heck i usually wash the engine and truck off when i do big jobs depending on how the owner keeps the vehicle just because thats what i do. go for a long drive to see if everything burns off, unless a puddle is being left.
