Hey guys, I am sure that this has been brought up before but, was there a factory navigation radio for the super duty's in 2006? I don't know if I have ever seen one, and I would like to switch my 6-disc radio to a factory navigation radio.
Factory navigation was not offered in the SuperDuty until the 2008 model. I personally think that the factory navigation unit is rediculously overpriced for what you get. You can put together an aftermarket setup for half the price that sounds much better, and has a lot more features.
yeah, I know that the benefits and features of an after market system are much more appealing than the factory offers, but I prefer the look of stock. Especially since everyone is using double din radio bays. Thus saying this, I am thinking hard about the Pioneer AVIC-D3X.
Wow, well that is really good to know, any of y'all actually do the install yourself? Wondering what kind of mess I am going to be getting myself into with it.
Also, where is everyone purchasing this unit from? crutchfield?
Chrutchfield is a good place to buy from. They are not the cheapest, but they will supply you with what you need for a clean and easy DIY install. Oh,and their customer support staff speak English too.
I picked up my D3 last year from Crutchfield. It looks great and works great !!!
Check out http://www.avic411.com/forum/ for all kinds of info about the Pioneers.
I have a Kenwood unit that I really like. I would recommend looking at the Kenwood DNX-7100 also, before you buy the D3. They are both great units and each has it's benifits over the other.
The 7100 looks just like the DDX-6019 I have installed in my truck.
Here are a couple links to a good place to purchase from. They are usually cheaper than Crutchfield, and they include the install items also.
thanks beerstalker, that is definitely a unit that I need to consider. Like you said they both have their selling points. I will be in the market next month to purchase so I need to get all of the research and info now before it becomes buying time.
