2piece driveshaft support bracket

i have an '04 f150 supercab w/ 8' bed (163" wheelbase) 64k miles. the other day the rear of the truck suddenly started to shudder as if the ebrake was stuck, it wasn't. i looked underneath to see what was going on and noticed the 2piece driveshaft resting down on the rubber liner inside the support bracket. after calling a few dealerships, i discovered that they don't sell the rubber or support bracket seperately. when the rubber gives out you have to buy a whole new driveshaft. i can't believe ford would be stupid enough to design it this way. i've noticed some tsb's on this because when the rubber fails while your driving, it will bind up and snap the bracket. some resolutions were to weld the bracket back together but you must do it on your own because ford won't do it. how could they make such a lame set-up and put it on a 4x4.
