Air Bag Crash Sensor #2
My brother has a '97 F-150, i'm posting this question for him. Upon startup, he gets an alarm noise coming from the right corner of the dash, about 5 beeps consecutively, and then a pause, repeated 5 times for about 25 seconds. I hooked up my AutoEnginuity and found a code, it was an air-bag crash sensor. I'm assuming this is some sort of sensor on the outside of the truck that senses impact or forces that would normally deploy the air bags. We are guessing the sensor is bad, or needs attention. If anyone knows where this is, it would be very helpful in getting this safety hazard fixed!

If I'm not mistaken, it is just a burned out lamp in the air bag switch on the dash panel in front of the passenger. Have him verify that the light illuminates when the igntion is turned on. If it does not come on, there is a Radio Shack lamp that can be installed to make it work again which is much more reasonable than replacing the part through Ford. Someone else will chime in with the part number for you. Good luck!
