OK, not that I need to know...but I WANT to know, because I like knowing the rig I drive inside and out...
I've seen parts vendors listing ring/pinion for the 97-00 as the 10.25" rear. I've also seen them list it as the 9.75" rear. My question is this...how to tell them apart? the 9.75/10.25/10.50 all look identical from pix I've seen...and they are all 12 bolt, same shape cover, etc. What is the tell-all here? I've even seen online lifted rigs that stated "he kept the stock 10.25"...." good grief...I guess 99 was confusing as Ford used both these rears in F150 HDs as well as F250 Light Duty rigs...
As for the front, I think everyone seems to agree it is a reverse cut IFS Ford 8.8".
aight cool. Thanks man. I'm assuming that 9.75 was a pretty stout unit? How were they offroad with the weight of the Expedition? I know they do great under Jeeps and their light duty frames.
