Your opinion

Hi a guy at work is buying a new superduty for pullin around his backhoe and ford is trying to sell him an automatic claiming it can handle more than a standard?

Is this true?

They are rated for more weight on paper, but id rather have a standard for pullin that much weight IMHO..

they do that now days cause no one knows how to grab gears, especiallly towing

From personal experience I'd have to say, for towing heavy your choices (in order) are manual, manual and manual. Oh by the way did I mention MANUAL, thought so. I pull my 14500# loader/backhoe on an 6000# trailer. I pulled it a couple times with a buddies auto and did not like it. I pull hay trailers (14 round bales), peanut drying tailers, flat bed with tractors, etc. But that's just my .02.

plowhand, i tow similar loads, big tractors, 15 round rolls of hay, and we just sold our last manual because we are getting lazy. the maual would pull circles around an auto
