351M head differences

Are there any between the D5AE A3A & the D5AE A2A heads. I looked closely & couldn't notice any...

Thanks!

351M head differences

Very little difference if any. Maybe some very slight difference in the size of the combustion chambers but since they are virtually identical castings I'd even doubt that. FWIW I've seen remanned engines with different year heads and even mixed Cleveland 2Vs and M heads which ran just fine.

351M head differences

Thanks! A real close look did not pick up any operational differences, some cosmetic changes, but I knew this is the place to double check. I looked in junk yards for weeks for a replacement head for my '81 F350 (nothing worth anything but a core was available & shops wanted $300+ to rebuild)and finally ended up getting a rebuilt one from Ebay for $60. I was having a problem with only replacing one head til I found another rebuilt head (on Ebay for $46) and got it yesterday. So I am now ready to put the 351M back together... decided not to do a long block now due to $$. I think a quick check on the timing chain though might pay off in the long run. It was suggestions from this forum that cooled my jets and pointed me towards Ebay for the good deals on the rebuilt heads and saved me hundreds of dollars! Thanks!
