Door Locks

I have an 03 explorer that the drivers door lock button will not unlock the doors. Changed it out with the passenger door and still doesn't work. It will lock the doors but not unlock. Where should I look next? Thanks for any help.

Can you feel the switch when you push to unlock the door? I had a window switch go bad on only one side. Hope this will help.

I think the 03 and the 02 have the same switch setup, the passenger side door has a switch to operate the lock and unlock, check to see if this switch is good, bad switch on one side can cause other side to seam bad. Other than that, I'm at a loss. Good Luck

I think he said that he swapped the drivers side switch with the passengers side switch and it (the drivers side) still would not unlock the doors. Apparently either switch works properly from the passenger side (?) So it sounds like there is a circuitry problem somewhere in the drivers door. I'd look for a wiring issue in the door or the rubber boot between the door and jam. The drivers side switch connects to a pink/yellow wire on the lock side and a pink/lt green wire on the unlock side. Look for damage to the pink/lt green wire. Let us know.

First of all, greetings to everyone. I just found this site and forum, thought I would join up!

I've got a 96 Explorer that has the same symptoms. Driver side will lock all the doors, but will not unlock them.
I bought a switch/control panel from ebay, did not seem to help. I put an ohm meter on both switches and ohm'ed the lock and unlock side on both, got the same results. Really curious what else it could be.

Didn't see any "obvious" problems with the wiring.

Does anyone know if the driver/passenger side switches are interchangeable on a 96?

I guess it's possible that the switch I got on ebay was bad also, but with both reading the same on the meter, I don't think so...

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciate, my wife is riding me to get this fixed!!
