transplanted 351M400 problem
I have a '71 F250 with a transplanted 351m400. It has the motorcraft 2V on it. Here's what it's doing. Whenever you try to accelerate quickly ( ie "stomp on it" ) it imediatly stalls out. As well you have to accelerate very VERY gradually and sudden increase in throttle will cause it to immediately die. The electric choke was wired open and inop so I removed it and replaced it with a manual choke thinking it might be "drowning" but it hasn't helped any. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why this might happen? Thanks in advance for the help

Check your accelerator pump output. Check your timing and advance mechanisms. Buy a manual here on your truck, It has all kinds of troubleshooting charts and much more for your truck.
