Hey guys, new guy here!
Not new to forums but new to this forum. But I have a problem thats causing me a lot of hassle throughout the family with suppyling rides, and i hope you guys can help me out.
One day i woke up, went out, came home and my 2003 Excursion ran fine. The truck sat for 10 minutes to a half an hour, not running, while i went inside to get ready for work. Me and my wife came out to leave, i went to start up the car, and nothing! Ever since then it won't start. The batteries are fully charged; ie: everything works fine with no battery level indication loss (TV, Radio, Map lights, Headlights..etc) I go to turn her over and there is nothing. I can here the fuel pump and im guessing the injectors (well, some kind of noise underneath the hood) but it doesnt turn over when i turn the key. Ive looked for everything/anything. Had the hood up for hours, charged the batteries, been under the truck. I can't find anything wrong? I have a feeling it could be the starter which is probably my best bet, but it went with no warning signs or nothing. Im too much of a wuss to go out and buy a starter from the dealer (or aftermarket) and install it cause im afraid it won't start! Can anyone give me some insight as to where else to look? I need some help!
Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!
I had the same thing happen to my '07 F-350 flatbed just a few weeks ago. I had it towed into Ford. When they got in the next morning it fired right up for them. They weren't able to get the problem to duplicate but it hasn't done it again since.
'07 Ford F-350 12' Flatbed 6.0L 3.73s

my f350 won't start if you lock it with the remote and then unlock it with the key. if you used the remote to lock it try to unlock it with the remote as well.
You could check fuse F2.31 for the starter relay. The relay has a contact tied to one side of the battery. There is also fuse F2.113 a 30 amp also used for the starter motor. The starter motor itself has a ground attached to it make sure it is good at the starter and to the body. The fuses are located in the central juction box.
