lower shock mount
My right front lower shock mount broke off (it was pre-cracked, as the rust pattern showed) I am having a terrible time finding one, anyone have any good leads?
The Ford dealer parts network comes up with one in AK and one in NJ. Neither actually exist. It appears to be discontinued after only 10 years...
Somebody probably has one in their spare parts bin, eh?

Ford calls it a spacer plate in the repair manual. Maybe it can be welded? Try your local bone yards? If you have a Ford part number you can ask @ junkyarddog dot com. It's parts finder service for bone yards, I've had a bit of luck with them getting hard to find parts.

I welded it back last night, it reminded me why I'm a technician and not a welder. But it survived the BFH test so all is well. On another post a user reports that this part is on backorder, unlike my local dealer, where the parts guys were hapless.
