Has anyone out there tried out the Banks intake kit for gas engines? I know it's expensive, but not that much more than the Volant system. Just wiery of trying out a newer, less tested intake and paying out the @$$ for it. Let me know!
Hey, I've got the banks high rise air intake on my truck. Its pretty cool. I haven't tried any other intakes so I can't really compair them. But I like it. The only thing that you kinda have to get used to is that the intake is SO big that when you get on the throttle the air rushing in through the pipe causes some vortex noises. It kinda sounds like a combination of an air roar and a vibration.
I didn't see alot of difference in the MPG department till I changed the exhaust. With the intake and a better exhaust its a whole new truck. I also put the edge module in last weekend. Whoa baby that thing is cool.

Dollar for dollar you are probably better off going with the Volant or Airaid. Banks is a recognized name but you are paying top dollar for 1-2 hp difference.
Banks builds AWESOME stuff. I'm saving up for the whole stinger kit. I like that you can get everything from one builder. Exaust, Intake, Programer, and Shorty Headers (if ya really wanted them), I think thats awesome.
I thought about buy a Banks Stinger for my Excursion and priced it out at $2700+ delivered. That isn't even installed. I bought an AFE intake, MBRP 4" Turbo back exhaust and an Edge Juice w/ Attitude Platinum Programmer all for under $1k. I am saving $1700 for the same stuff. Like I said. Banks is good stuff but there are other AM add ons that are significantly less expensive that will do the same thing for your ride. Just my .02
Well I have seen the Banks kit for the F-150 for like $1200.00, doesnt sound all that bad to me. And since I know which end of a screw driver to hang on to and I own a set of basic tools (which is all you need for a cat back Intake and Programer) I'm going to save my self $500.00 by installing it all my self.
