I am going to flatbed my '86 f250 4x4 ... I am thinking about adding an aux fuel tank/tool box combo behind the dab ... Under that I was thinking of putting the batteries on slideouts ... What type wiring should I use for the batteries? ... The runs would be a max of about 18 feet ... Probably more like around 12-15 feet ...
I see it's a diesel. The original wire was a 2/0. I would stay with that or a little larger. The 2/0 goes from battery to battery, and then down to the starter. You will also need a couple more for a ground from each battery to the engine block. A good place to get the wire is a welding supply shop.
