I have a 04 f250 6.0 psd with 160000km (100000mi) bone stock no problems was wondering about exhaust mods cat delete vs mufler delete (do not want the truck to be toooo loud) has anyone done this and actually measured the performance results good or bad and if so which delete will give the biggest reduction in egt's or performance. was going to add a tuner at the eco setting
EGTs will be lower, no real HP/TQ gains to be had from just adding the exhaust. Using a tuner with a straight piped exhaust won't be that much louder, besides you may just enjoy the whistle.
I'd recommend a 3.5" MBRP downpipe with the MBRP cat delete pipe, if you want it louder then get a local shop to cut out the muffler. Those MBRP pieces will fit the stock tubing and should cost under $250.
just cut out my cat today, i cut out the muffer a few weeks ago. not to much louder just sitting there but if you step on it it's loud and the whistle my god. this is a 6.0 2004 late 03 build date might have the old turbo only 45,000 miles. if you can find a international truck dealer you can pick up everything you will need to do this in you driveway for cheap.
