Okay, 14.7 it is!

I am not running oversized tires. They may not be dimensionally the same as OEM, but they are certainly not oversized.

What about the exhaust I am running? Should it be Okay? Seems like others here are doing something similar. I may just have to live with it. Maybe it is just tired, I dont know the history of the motor?

Stock mufflers are referred to as corks. Maybe when you need a new one, try a free flowing steel muffler. Glass paks too loud, sometimes worse performing. No dramatic increase to follow.....

do not tune your truck to run 14.7:1 A/F. Dont even mess with it at all. 13.8:1 is about as lean as you can get.

my last thought on this is to upgrade to a duraspark 2 ignition, or MSD / whatever digital ignition. It might help, but, youre already getting about as good as its gonna get.

I am running single 2 1/2 with a flowmaster.

I have a duraspark dizzy in the garage, I think there is some sort of "box" that goes with it. Is that correct? How do I tell if it is a duraspark II? Does it take addition wiring that I may have some troubles with?

Your modifications really call for a custom advance curve.

If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our custom curved Duraspark Distributor built with our new Full Length Oil Impregnated Bronze Bushing. The full length bushing improves timing stability and spark scatter. If stock appearance is not an issue, take a look at our one piece D.U.I. Distributor.
