Fluids specs
I wanted to check with you guys as to what fluids should be used in the variousl components on our trucks. The ZF5 is the one I am the most curious about. I think mine has some brown ATF in it and was overfilled a bit, about a qt. When I get back on the road will I notice she is noisier with the proper level? What type of ATF should be used? I know on my chevy S10 blazer borg-warner 5sp it requires Type F for the synchros. If it takes DexII, would changing to 5w40 Rotella be a bad thing?
Engine: 15w40 (or 5w40)
Differentials: gear oil .. 80-90 (or 75-140)
Power steering: PS fluid
T18/19: gear oil
Transfer case: ?
ZF5: ?
