find it

Hey ford motor heads. Love this site, lets keep rocking. I guess my 1968 ford f250 camper special is really a special!!! I can't find any emergency brake cables for it. vin has a H in it. I know i have seen some 68 camper specials all fixed up real nice. So what's the secret here, help guys, i have been looking for days on line, Kenter shows they have them, I am not so sure they do. And they want $100.00 each, PLEASE, in my search i have seen a lot of cables for old ford trucks, and nothing like a $100.00 each. Any help. Thank you very much, and i would very much like to (cut in ) on this job.

If you do a search on site, you'll find this discussion done before. Seems that CS is an odd man out and they don't carry cables very often. I think some guys have found places to custom make them(put the lead ball on end).

Do you have the casings?

My '67 F100 broke the front cable and nothing was available. I was able to use cable used for garage door springs. Pulled it thru and used small cable clamps on end to attach. Works like a charm.

1968 F250 Camper Specials use the exact same e-brake cables the other 1968 F250 2WD's use (& 1967 F250's & 1969 F250's before serial #D96,001), as long as the wheelbase is 131" and rear brake shoes are 2 1/2" wide (both std. specs on 1967/72 F250 C/S's). There's no mention of C/S's in the brake cable sections of the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

1-C7TZ-2A635-C .. Right Rear Brake Cable - 72 1/2" long, color coded yellow

1-C7TZ-2A635-D .. Left Rear Brake Cable - 73 21/32" long, color coded light green

2-C6TZ-2A790-A .. Connector, Parking Brake Cables

2-C7TZ-2A793-B .. R/L Rear Connecting Cables - 15 3/4" long.

These short cables attach to the equalizer bar, then by way of the above connectors, attach to the two rear cables.

1-C7TZ-2853-R .. Front Cable-E-brake to Equalizer -87 13/16" long.

FTE sponsor GREEN SALES has ALL of these cables except for one of the short 15" ones.

Green Sales sells Ford obsolete parts: 800-543-4959.

What i need is right rear, and left rear emergency cables, the ones that are on it look like full length cables, not 2 piece, but one full length cable.
